Why You Should Always Upgrade Your WordPress Blog

Hey guys, did you see one of the new cool features on your Wordpress website/blog in the latest Wordpress 3.1 upgrade? Cool New Admin Bar Pretty cool eh? :-) You can also hide or disable the Admin Bar if you aren't as excited about it as I am. Go to your User Profile options and deselect it. Reasons Why You Should ALWAYS Keep Your Blog Updated

  • Keeps your site secure and safe from idiotic hackers. Geesh, don't people have anything better to do!?!?
  • The Wordpress folks are continuously giving us new cool things to play with like the new admin bar that's on our site when we're logged in!
  • Could eliminate the need for certain plugins by giving us the functionality "out of the box" - can't beat that.
Fun Fact! WordPress 3.1 “Reinhardt” is named in honor of the jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. Version 3.1 is

Marketing Your Website If Search Engines Didn’t Exist

seo-search-engine-bad-practicesThese days, I see so many people (bloggers and small business owners alike) concerned with what the search engines think of their websites because "so called" experts tell us that Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is everything. Frankly, I'm tired of all the "experts" and self-proclaimed SEO gurus that keep popping up from the wood works everyday telling us that SEO is the bee's knees! (I love that phrase by the way!) LOL Now before you start to pull your hand waaaaaaaay back to get ready to hit me with your hardest slap and knock me back into reality, hear me out. Who would you rather read your site - search engines or human beings? Who are you attracting and doing business with  - search engines or human beings? You might say, "Well, Kesha, we need search ...

Are You Not Using Fiverr for Your Online Business?

Pig-Will-Work-Cartoon-fiverr If you don't know what Fiverr is yet, you must check it out! What is Fiverr? Fiverr is simply, "The place for people to share things they're willing to do for $5!" The first time I heard about Fiverr, I thought, "What kind of work are people doing for $5" Well, I was completely surprised. People are willing to do all types of stuff!  Trust me, they are. Here are some of the "funny or crazy" listings: girls flashing somebody for you, sending video birthday messages to someone, taking pictures with your products, video testimonials... Speaking of paid testimonials, in the US, I don't think the Federal Trade Commission allows paid testimonials for products or services so I advise you NOT to do it just to be safe. However, there are some very good jobs out there too like creating ebook covers, blog posts, ...

How Much Online Freedom Does Your Internet Have?

world-internet-censorship Well in America, the "land of the free", it's definitely not as much freedom, online in this case, as we'd think. In the name of national security censorship, who knows what direction we might end up going with online censorship and freedom! i just hope it not backwards. Per Mashable,

"America, the champion of democracy and freedom, actually has more Internet censorship than some countries in Africa and South America according to an infographic based on Internet censorship research conducted by the OpenNet Initiative." As for what kinds of content is censored, the research found that “blogs” were the most censored content at 20% while “militant groups” only ranked at 1%.
Surprised? I'm not. But what does this mean? Can our blog content be censored at some point? I surely don't know the answer to this question ...
