Pricing. How much will it cost?

We often explain that building a website is like building a house. To accurately estimate a project, we take into considerations the finished project and all the choices available to you to get there. The variety of choices for your project are unlikely to fit into a predetermined package so we estimate each project separately which ends up working better for you as a client.

We’ve built, managed, and / or consulted on projects in the price range of $400 – $4000. Prices vary depending on the number of pages in the site, the type of site (static vs. dynamic), and what additional features are needed. To determine your needs, we offer a FREE initial consultation where we will discuss your needs in order to give you a detailed quote for your project.

Also, if you are on an extremely tight design budget, let us know that upfront so we can tell you exactly what you can get for the money.

How long does it take to build a web site?

This will depend very much on your particular project, but as a rough guide you can expect the following:

A 1 page web site – 5-10 working days
A 5-10 page web site – 15-20 working days
A custom design and/or web development solution – 20+ working days

What is your design process?

Our approach to web design and web development follows a six-stage process:

Stage 1: Initial Consultation
We meet with each client whether it’s via web conference, in person, or via phone to discuss your project’s needs. During this session, feel free to tell us everything – your goals, desires, favorite colors, etc.

Stage 2: Present Proposal
Following an initial discussion regarding your project requirements, we will prepare a detailed proposal document detailing your requirements together with the fees and time scales for our services. At this stage we may also present some additional ideas and advice that we feel could benefit your project. If necessary we will then refine the proposal based on any feedback you may have in order to give you a final cost and time analysis.

Stage 3: Agreement and Initial Payment
If you are satisfied with the proposal document and would like to proceed further, we will prepare an agreement of services and an invoice for 50% of the development fee. Once the signed agreement and invoice payment are received we will begin work on the project.

Stage 4: Initial Development
We will start designing the layout for your web site. This is based upon any preferences you have for color, style, competitor sites, corporate branding, and so forth. This stage involves an iterative process of feedback and refinement until you are completely satisfied with the final design.

Stage 5: Integration, Refinement, and Testing
Once the design has been agreed upon, it will be integrated with the site content and / or any other site components included in the project. Once again, we will undertake a process of feedback and refinement on the full development until you are completely satisfied with the final product.

Stage 6: Completion and Maintenance
With the web site finished to your satisfaction, we will then complete any post-development tasks you have requested (such as search engine submissions) and will issue the final invoice for the outstanding 50% balance of the project.
